On Thursday 12 June, we will hold the first ever Morison Global Day – a day for the Association to celebrate its values in action and to share some of the Impact Initiatives our members are delivering to create positive social, environmental, or economic change in their local communities.
The Global Office team will be spending the day volunteering in the community on a sustainability/environmental project in London and we welcome members to join us, either in London, or by carrying out their own activity on the same day. We will also use this as an opportunity to share some of the amazing work our members are already doing in their communities. Here are some recent examples of our members' great work!

Fineac, Switzerland: Supporting “Licht für vergessene Kinder”
For more than 20 years, Fineac has supported the Zug Foundation “Licht für vergessene Kinder” (www.lfvk.ch) by preparing the annual accounts free of charge. One of Fineac’s employees works on the foundation board free of charge and they also make monetary donations, 100% of which flow into their projects.
Among other projects, the foundation runs an orphanage in the Ugandan village of Chopelwor. Chopelwor is a small village in western Uganda. Around 1,500 people live in the village, 700 of whom are children. Around 80% of these families live from their own agriculture. The villagers are therefore dependent on good environmental conditions, but the adjacent national park is a major challenge. If families cannot afford to pay school fees, children are not sent to school. Many young adults have attended school for less than four years and therefore have few prospects for the future.
The foundation built a new secondary school building at the end of November 2023, which was a huge step forward for the entire region. The new school gives more than 150 children access to education after elementary school.
Two of Fineac’s employees attended the opening of the school in 2023 and were able to experience everyday life at the children's home (click here to see film).
Since October 2024, this school has now been connected to the power grid. This means that computers and digital devices can be used in lessons, significantly improving learning conditions. One of Fineac’s partners visited the site in November last year and has been able to experience the progress.
Fineac is proud to play a small part in this change and will continue to support the foundation's work in order to promote long term positive development in this region and support people towards a better future
Morison LC, Malaysia: Supporting the House of Love Orphanage
To mark Chinese New Year, the team at Morison LC, our member in Malaysia, visited the House of Love Orphanage (Pertubuhan Rumah Anak Yatim Berkat Kasih). The visit was an opportunity to bring festive cheer to the children whilst getting to understand their needs and future plans for a better life.
During the visit, the Morison LC team engaged in a meaningful Lou Sang session, symbolising prosperity and togetherness. They also spent time interacting with the children, sharing insights about Chinese New Year traditions, and distributing Ang Pao to spread joy. Additionally, they contributed groceries to help them prepare for the upcoming celebrations.

HHP, Austria: Supporting employee's health and wellbeing
Many of our firms are doing some fantastic work to support their employee community by promoting physical and emotional wellbeing through offering opportunities to maintain a healthy work-life balance. Here is what Doris Hohenegger and Patricia Hueber from HHP in Austria shared with us:
“The mental well-being of our team is very important to us and there are a number of things we provide. We offer our employees the opportunity to visit a qualified Pilates trainer (free of charge) who visits the office every fortnight, and we provide access to a masseuse in the office – the cost is covered by the individual, but holding sessions at the office means that employees don’t need to travel. In addition, for employees who may be experiencing difficult personal situations, we offer to cover the cost of 3 sessions with a psychologist or coach as needed.
We understand the importance of having a good work life balance and for providing good social benefits for our team. There is a family party once a year and a family barbecue which we feel really strengthens team cohesion. We have a staff bar where we hold all our company celebrations and training events – all drinks are free and greatly appreciated by our employees who regular meet outside of working hours to exchange ideas. To contribute to team building, we hold a company trip every few years – the last one was in Berlin in 2023 and was a great opportunity to really get to know each other. Lastly for our sporting enthusiasts we recently took part in the Vienna Business Run together and we covered the participation costs, and refreshments after the event. Entering these sorts of events really boosts team morale and shows that we can achieve great things together with team spirit! We feel that providing these benefits to our employees not only helps maintain a good work-life balance for HHP employees, but it’s something that makes our firm culture special and helps us retain talent in the firm”.
