On 9-12 November, Morison Global welcomed over 70 delegates to its Asia Pacific regional conference in Kuala Lumpur.
The conference was opened by keynote speaker, Keith Tay, from Echtventure who presented on how we can engage the younger generation of professionals and close the generation gap. Keith’s colleague, Lynnette Chai, followed the session by facilitating a lively networking session allowing members to get acquainted with each other in a fun and engaging way.
We were pleased to have Steven Chong of our host firm, Morison LC PLT, sharing his insights in a session about integrating opportunities from the digital economy and Afwaz Alkhuzam, from member firm Alkhuzam & Co. who presented an interesting talk on modern tactics for B2B marketing.
Day two commenced with a lively workshop led by Roshan Thiran from Leadernomics, a learning and engagement organisation, which involved delegates working in teams to convey information across different roles and responsibilities exploring deeper insights into self and team dynamics.
In the afternoon our delegates enjoyed an afternoon networking activity on a bus tour seeing many of the main iconic sights of the city, ending with climbing the 272 steps at Batu Caves!
The final day of the conference included sessions on ISQM, led by Stelios Theophanous (Morison Patsalides) and a session on the benefits of investing in Cyprus presented by Loucas Louca of Morison Patsalides/Interquick. We were fortunate to welcome Sharath Martin from ACCA who presented the role professional accountants can play in climate action.
The conference finished with an open forum, led by Steven Chong, exploring how our firms are managing in the current macroeconomic environment – this session gave delegates the opportunity to share their challenges and ways in which they are overcoming them.
The conference closed, in usual tradition, with the Asia Pacific gala dinner where many members had the chance to share their hidden talents with a variety of different performances – a truly fun and memorable way to close Morison Global’s final conference for the year!
Thanks to all our speakers for leading engaging and insightful sessions and thanks to our host firms Morison LC PLT and WHLK for the excellent organisation support and assistance.
Finally, thanks to all our members for joining us in Kuala Lumpur!
